Directly situated on the water, the Sound View Inn anchors the North Fork of Long Island, with its own quarter mile long private beach. Mimicking the laid back, lower profile, and often overlooked beauty of the North Fork, the Sound View Inn provides an effortless and approachable beach-side escape with surprises around every corner. It’s a short two miles from the Greenport train station and worlds away from the crowds in the Hamptons.
The hotel’s design layers inspiration from New England modernism, popularized by the Bauhaus enclaves on Cape Cod and the golden era of motels, and the great American Road Trip. It feels at once familiarly nostalgic, yet of the moment. Though it’s beach side, the nautical themes are nuanced and understated with nods to the village’s rich fishing and boat-building history.
